Take a look at our beautiful family of mini Doxie's and sheltie's.  We live on a large farm with lots of room to run in the beautiful mountains of North West Georgia.  We live in Summerville Georgia.  Barking Kennels is a fully Licensed and Inspected Kennel with the State of Georgia and the AKC.

We have a variety of Dachshund colors like reds, black and tan, dapples, chocolates, and now English Creams.  We have both longhaired and smooth.  Our owner, Pam Agee, has been involved with dogs for more than 30 years.  She takes great care to see that we are all happy and well cared for.  She has a real passion and love for Doxie's and sheltie's.

If you would like to know about a doxie's personality who better to tell you than a doxie.... "We are very loving dogs.  We love to be around people and we love to snuggle or burrow under things (like covers in your bed at night).  We were bred to burrow into the ground to go after prey.  So we are fearless little dogs.  Some people say we are big dogs in a small body.  We can be stubborn and independent at times.  However, we are great companions because of our small size and hearty easy going ways.  We are easy to care for and love to be involved in our owners life.  So please feel free to browse our site and make one of us your future companion.  You won't be sorry you did!"

Shetland sheepdogs or as they are better known as "Sheltie's" make wonderful family pets too.  That is why we added them to our kennel.  They are basically a miniature collie.  They have the same wonderful easy going personality as a collie only they are smaller.  They are great with children.  They are also great for families that live in small house, apartments or condo's because of their small size.  They have a personality that is eager to please their owners which makes them easy to train.  They are very loving and loyal to their families.  We only have one male and two females so we don't always have Sheltie's available.
